*She stood, her arms folded over her chest, eyes narrowed, head tilted, staring out the window of Serenity. She was near the doors of the cockpit, having yet to make a proper entrance. The planet, Persephone, was in plain sight...they'd be landing soon. No prospects of a job, but they couldn't remain in the black much longer. The ship needed to be refueled, and Kaylee was having a fit in the engine room...complaining about another coil.
She made a note to search the cortex again, see if anything had popped up since the Captain had checked last. If not, they could always go look on planetside. Though she wasn't to fond of that plan...oh no. She didn't like not having a steady plan set.
But there wasn't much she could do about that right now. For the moment, she was just soaking in the view...and her husbands mood. She hadn't quite figured out if it was a good or bad one.*

Wash flew the ship smoothly through the black, coming closer to Persephone. He was a bit uneasy about this trip. Mainly because they didn't have a job this time and that meant that anything and everything could go wrong.
More so than it normally did, anyway.
He turned around in his seat and had a small heart attack at seeing his wife standing in the doorway, just watching him.
"Zoe!" he exclaimed, grabbing his chest. "How long have you been there?"

Minute or two *She unfolded her arms, putting them by her sides, fully stepping into the cockpit. She walked gracefully towards him, a little grin on her face*
Not much longer now? *She tilted her head, glancing out the window, watching the planet that they were getting closer and closer to. She came to stand by his chair, one hand moving to rest on the back of his chair, the other on her hip, as her eyes studied* I'm gettin' rather sick of them docks

"Don't do that," he said, a small grin escaping. "I could have a real heart attack and crash, likely killing us all, you know."
He turned back to the controls and punched in the coordinates for the Eavesdown Docks. "We should be landing any minute now, barring any storms or Alliance ships coming at us out of nowhere."
He glanced up at Zoe as she stopped next to him. "I'm getting sick of seeing them too. I don't understand why Mal keeps taking jobs from Badger. I know we need the coin, but still." Wash shook his head and turned back to the controls.

Well...you must admit, dear, Badger does have a nice hat *She flashed him a grin, before chuckling a little*
Captain just has half a brain at times...*She shrugged her shoulders, her eyes shifting to the controls, watching him punch in the coordinates*

"Hey," he said, looking back and forth between the controls and the outside world. "I could wear hats as fancy as his...I just choose not to. Since you told me I look silly in 'em anyway, dear."
Captain just has half a brain at times...
Wash laughed a bit and said, "Yes, it's a wonder he can dress himself sometimes." He turned and grinned at her before a small jolt rocked the ship, making him turn around quick as a flash to steady her out. They were descending into the atmosphere of the planet, the rockiest part of the whole journey.
Wash gritted his teeth a bit as he steadied her out while they continued their descent. "Wuo duh ma if this isn't the rockiest landing ever. Must be an atmospheric storm or some such."
Over his shoulder, he said to Zoe, "Tell Mal we'll be in the Docks in about ten minutes. Twenty if this storm gets too bad. Oh! And let him know it might be a good idea to strap himself down to something. Put those suspenders of his to good use."

Well, most hats generally look silly. Remember Jayne's? *She smiled before tightening her grip on his seat, to keep her balance. She frowned. She had no doubt that her husband would smooth it out, didn't mean that she still didn't get a little jittery when they had a rough landing. She nodded her head, pushing her hand from his seat, moving for the doors of the cockpit.
She glanced back over her shoulder, putting her hand to her mouth, giggling at the last he had made* Will do...*She said through chuckles, before exiting the cockpit to find the Captain*

Wash grinned a bit as he caught Zoe's reaction. He always liked making her laugh, especially when it was at Mal's expense. Wash liked Mal, no question, was very loyal to him, but he still sorta resented the fact that Zoe seemed to take everything Mal said at face value, while she questioned a lot of the things her own husband put forth.
He shook his head, forcing the thoughts out of his mind. 'Now's not the time for any pettiness,' he reminded himself in his mind as he soared through the atmosphere. He had half a mind to just drop the whole thing. Something wouldn't let him though. Kept bringing it back to the main focus in his mind.
"Stop it," he told himself forcefully, while he glided around a storm cloud, feeling the vibration through the ship. A few moments later, all was smooth again. Wash grinned again as he glided the ship down to the Docks, to its usual spot in the area. Once the ship was fully docked, he turned off the engines and grabbed the intercom.
"All clear everyone. We can get off the boat."
The pilot stood up and stretched then exited the cockpit.
